We have been waiting for the next official faction for months now, whilst the Faction Management team has been observing for any potential candidates. Finally, the new official faction was announced to be The O'Reilly Mob. There are certainly Los Santos Roleplay members out there who would like to know more about the faction and have high intrest towards it, which is why we decided to ask a selection of questions from the faction leadership.

The following questions have been answered by Riley, who is currently the leading figure of the faction;

INTRODUCTION.
The O’Reilly Mob is a faction that began it’s life in the month of October 2011, the role-play began with four people on the 15th of October and shortly expanded within 2 months to hold one of the largest player bases in the Mafia scene currently known to Los Santos Role Play. The O’Reilly Mob is the most realistic portrayal of the Irish-American criminal scene in LS-RP and we currently pride ourselves in knowing that we are mainly neighbourhood based, choosing to role-play in East Los Santos to move the realistic feeling of an Irish-American neighbourhood that say the Westies or the Winter Hill Gang had in their reigns in South Boston and Hell’s Kitchen.

WHEN YOU CREATED THIS FACTION, WHO OR WHAT DID YOU BASED THIS ALL FROM?
The O’Reilly Mob is not based of anything that is currently running in real life, however we have taken parts from Irish-American organisations in real life and tweaked them so it works in Los Santos Role Play. When I came to create this faction, we were basing it off the things I personally learnt in two previous Irish factions, The Coonan Mob an the Murray Crime Syndicate to eventually put the good parts of each faction into play and then run it out of a neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood role-play is based of a theory from my close friend Soap who tried it out in a previous faction, using this we built upon the idea and extended it so that we could create a neighbourhood feeling, as well as this the placement of our three businesses. Frankie’s Diner, JackRabbit’s and Wiggles inside East Los Santos means that we are very localised in our role-play.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED WITH THE O'REILLY MOB?
Becoming associated within The O’Reilly Mob or even being involved can depend on a variety of factors, which means if you are looking to get involved with O’Reilly, you will want to be noticed. You can do this in a variety of ways, for example you could create your own role-play, create a company or a side-crew with a few select members of your choice. This will make you stand out to the Captains and enforcers and you will therefore become involved with The O’Reilly Mob. You could also visit one of our businesses and ask for a job behind the bar or serving sandwiches, coffee, however this is probably one of the longest routes to becoming associated within The O’Reilly Mob.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE NEWCOMERS WHO ARE TRYING TO ROLEPLAY WITH YOU?
If you are coming to role-play with The O’Reilly Mob, you must bring your top game grammatically wise and role-play wise. We expect that you role-play your characters to the fullest, incorporating certain emotions and events into how you role-play your character. You should look to follow your own story line because it will create more depth when you role-play with other members of The O’Reilly Mob.

Another expectation is that you thoroughly research how Irish-Americans work in the United States because if I see you come into East Los Santos with a cheetah trying to join. You will be shunned away immediately. Research is a major factor in role-playing an Irish-American character properly and will ensure you do not find yourself out of place within the Mob.

TIPS AND POINTERS TO NEWCOMERS.
You must be able to create your own role-play, if you do not know how to you won’t get anywhere in The O’Reilly Mob. You must research thoroughly into how Irish-Americans work in United States, it will give you vital knowledge and help you out in your role-play. You should look to create a background story for your character because it will allow you talk a lot about how certain things are with you. For example, I role-play sometimes having to pick my children up at a certain time and it can move your role-play into a higher level.

HOW DID YOU AND YOUR FACTION MEMBERS FELT WHEN YOU ACHIEVED OFFICIAL STATUS?
With The O’Reilly becoming Official, you can just imagine how happy we were. My MSN group was full up with my members congratulating each other and being generally happy that we had made it and in-game, we were really happy. You have to look outside the box, not just at the Official Status. It is the fact that the community and the faction management team recognise us for the hard work and effort we have put into this faction. I personally felt the sense of achievement and that a whole load of new doors have been opened and they’re just waiting to be explored.

You can definitely count on The O’Reilly Mob becoming a stronger force and a stronger faction as we enter 2012.
