City Plunges into Chaos
By Allegra Nixon

This evening the City of Los Santos was thrown into pure and absolute bedlam; scenes of panic-struck citizens stampeding each other, communication shut-downs and talks of an anthrax bomb attack. TraceNews™ can now confirm that we have all the details of what truly happened this evening.

At approximately 19:00, payphones around the city started emitting strange noises. Calls to the telecomms agency were made but no further action was taken; it seemed like a fault with the phone line. This strange occurrence, however, then spread into the cell network and caused it to crash.

Following this, radio transmissions then took a nosedive. This immediately caught the attention of the law enforcement agencies, which rely on radios for organising themselves. Alarms were now being raised. "We were experiencing signal disruptions, and noticed that a lot of domestic items in the city had stopped working" notes Assistant Chief Jamal, "Some members of the Sheriff's Department came down to the PD and confirmed that this was happening to them as well."

Meanwhile the Sheriff's Department had begun investigations as to exactly what was causing the electronic failures. They set out towards the Satellite at the "Big Ear" to investigate.

Nobody could have imagined what happened next, however... The strange electronic "virus" continued to spread, this time causing the Anthrax Alert System at the top of the SAN tower to begin sounding. Assuming that the city was falling victim to some kind of biological attack, law enforcement officers began ushering citizens towards the City Hall via an emergency frequency.

"The safety of the citizens was our top priority" comments Sergeant Casper, "So we established City Hall as being a rally point for keeping everyone safe, before calling in HAZMAT."

The events that followed simply cannot be described by words, so pictures will have to suffice. See for yourselves:

It wasn't long before people began to wonder just exactly what was going on. LSPD's SWAT and Riot Control officers were out in full force attempting to keep the peace, but with citizens shouting about Russian invasions and zombie attacks, such a task proved to be very difficult.

Meanwhile back at the Big Ear, Sheriffs and Police Officers had encountered a strange man in a van, who they believed to be a cyber-terrorist causing all the interference in communications. "This was the man who had made the anthrax alarms go off" comments Commander Hartley, "Once we confirmed all the citizens were safe, we focused on him."

"After a brief stand off, and a bomb threat, the man stepped out of his vehicle voluntarily. We then used a tactical bomb robot to make sure that the van was safe, but all that was found inside was his electrical equipment." explains the Commander, "we conducted a controlled demolition of the vehicle, and the problem was solved."

The perpetrator, whose name is currently not being released to the public, has been transferred to SA-HFP. “Justice will always prevail” concludes Assistant Chief Rashid Jamal, “And we are ALWAYS prepared.”
