Mayor Lowe Appoints Civilian Councillor
Written by CHARLOTTE MISQUEZ
Mayor Ian Lowe initiated a council vote on who is to be the Civilian Councillor. The votes came in unanimously and Mayor Lowe made an announcement just last night: "After a long and deliberate investigation, I am very pleased with the latest addition to our City Council: Miss Allegra Nixon"
A staunch member of our community for several years now, Nixon had this to say: "I have seen governments rise and fall over the years, seen what makes them tick and what makes them flip. Only the ones who paid attention to what the people had to say have been even remotely successful. It is for this reason that I would like to ensure that the public's voice is heard on a Council level."
The new changes to municipal governing in Los Santos (brought in by the State Office) means that any by-laws or bills to be passed must get a majority vote at the City Council. Ms Nixon is now one of the people who holds the power to influence change in the city. See the images below for a very basic look at the current Councillors and how the system works.
In an exclusive short interview with Mayor Lowe, he stated that "We at City Hall look forward to working together with her towards our common goal; improving the state of this city. Miss Nixon is the most suitable candidate for the position and when the decision was made, her down-to-earth attitude and her relationship with the public were the deciding factors."
