Brought to you by the Public Affairs Division, on behalf of the Los Santos Fire Department

Written by Attending Physician Femke Carnahan

Today, we finish this month with our bulletin and hopefully with some surprises for some of our members with either a promotion or an award – whatever it’ll be, each promotion and award is deserved.
Summer is reaching the end and we’re leaving an eventful August behind. Several events and situations made us stronger as a team. We had to say farewell to some of our longstanding members, but we were also able to welcome our new colleagues, returning members, changes in the divisions and more. You can read all about this interesting things in the following bulletin and we hope you enjoy it. Stay safe throughout September.

Written by Commissioner Jenny Crawford

This year saw me celebrate my anniversary as Commissioner of the LSFD and I hope to still be sat here writing one of these a year to come from now. There is honestly nothing more rewarding then seeing all the commitment and dedication coming from the employees of the Los Santos Fire Department and I'm grateful to be able to experience this each and every day.

I won't lie that it has been difficult this month with myself off out on several meetings and conferences but with the support from all the employees of the department and a committed set of supervisors and command team I can gladly say that the department is continuing to grow in numbers and we will continue to do so.

We have took some losses this month in the resignations of Battalion Chief Shawn Donnell and Bureau Chief Kayla Liams who are both two important figures of the LSFD that will be missed. With this though many others have stepped up there park in filling the gaps left behind and many new faces have joined the department to ensure the continued success. We aim to ensure that no matter what we are running to the highest efficiency that this department can run by.

So let's now look forward to the month of September as winter slowly creeps up on us all. Stay safe Los Santos!

Sub-department changes in August

Written by Attending Physician Femke Carnahan

Some of our sub-departments experienced major changes within their internal Command and leadership positions throughout the August.

A short term as the leader of the Child Protective Services had Adam Foster who unfortunately resigned from our department in the past days, after the previous leader resigned from the position as the Director of CPS. Appointed as the Deputy Commander was Royston Farrell. Best of luck to Mr. Farrell for his future work within the CPS.

Captain Robert Apps was appointed as the Internal Support Units Commander, who is now in charge of our morgue and impounder units. We wish him the best for his work.

Attending Physician Femke Carnahan was appointed as the Public Affairs Commander after the dismissal of the previous leader of his position. Engineer Michael Apps was appointed as the Deputy Commander throughout August.
